4/10/25: Non-profit organization Den Trekhaak distributes checks
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to non-profit organization De Trekhaak and all its volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who contributed to this generous donation and the pleasant, enjoyable collaboration.
On July 18-19-20, Diepestraat in Mol-Sluis was once again the scene of caravans and tractors, spit-roasted pork, bacon sandwiches, delicious chicken wings, frikandellen with cherries, and Zoete Zonde (Sweet Sin), in short… the Zigeunerfjeste.
For three days, thousands of people enjoyed the simplicity, atmosphere, and conviviality of this unique piece of countryside.
Vzw Den Trekhaak, a group of friends with a passion for caravans and carefree social life, donated the profits to several charities.
De Witte Mol, Den Brand, ContactpuntNCL, and vzw Help Brandwonden Kids each received a generous check from chairman Wouter Van Craenendonck.
The “Zigeunerfjeste” is organized every two years and aims first and foremost to be a family event where young and old can enjoy themselves.
The youngest visitors are captivated by Joe the storyteller, the old fairground swings, the children’s train, the tractor tow, and the big white sand mountain.
Older visitors enjoy the tractors, the caravans, performances here and there, or a drink at the “smallest café.” Set in the region’s characteristic bocage landscape, the whole event exudes the convivial atmosphere of a village festival of yesteryear.
It is therefore no coincidence that the slogan is “where magic, nostalgia, and romance meet.”
