12/3/26: Fire safety lessons
Help Brandwonden Kids visited GBS De Zandloper for fire safety lessons.
All primary school pupils took part in interactive prevention lessons. One of the most impressive parts was the visit to the so-called smoke chamber. There, the children were given the task of finding two dolls in a smoke-filled room. During this exercise, they experienced for themselves how quickly visibility is lost when smoke develops and how difficult it becomes to find one’s bearings.

Parents were also involved in the initiative. In the evening, the school, together with Huis van het Kind and Help Brandwonden Kids, organised an informative session. The company Humat provided practical tips and demonstrated, through concrete experiments, how quickly fire can spread and what measures can be taken to prevent fires.

The message of the day was clear: focusing on fire prevention and basic life-saving skills starts with children.
